Wont be Caught Sleeping

Sometimes I wonder what God is doing.  Who doesn’t ever wonder that?  I am constantly reminded over the verse that says “whether you look to the right or the left, you will hear a small voice behind you saying, ‘this is the way, walk in it’” . . .

It is crazy how bible stories become so real when life hits you in the face.  Four nights ago, we had quite the scare.  A man tried to crawl through one of the windows in my apartment.  Luckily the girl who sleeps in that room woke up before he was all the way in the apartment.  She startled him and he left.  It is totally a God thing because this girl who was sleeping in that room wasn’t supposed to be back for another day but Jill thought that it would be more convenient for her to come back that day.  I can’t imagine what would have happened if she hadn’t been there or if he had made it into the room.  Honestly, it is probably best if I don’t think about that.  I am so thankful for God who was truly watching out for us that night.

Anyways, our guards had fallen asleep.  Reminds me of the verses talking about Christ’s return being like a thief in the night and whether or not we will be ready.  I can tell you one thing, I don’t want to be caught like our guards.  “Awake, O sleeper!” rings clear in my ears.  It was definitely an eye opener for me.  I don’t want to ever be caught off guard.  God has me here for a reason and I don’t ever want to be caught sleeping and miss an opportunity, a conversation, a relationship.

God has been so good at showing me things every day.  I had thought I reached my learning capacity weeks ago, but He continues to show me that there is so much more to learn!

Elisha Update – Elisha seems a little off these days.  He is gaining weight still but seems to be a little lethargic, almost like the mall is open but no one is shopping.  Hopefully we will figure this out soon!  The poor boy!
